Battle Report: BMG 6/29/2019 (Batman vs League of Assassins)

Wow, it has been 3 weeks since my last game of Batman Miniature Game, but yesterday afternoon my son and I were able to get in a game, and it was Magical.  It was the first time either of us were going to play with Crews that had a Character that could do Magic.  My son was playing 'John Constantine' in his Brave and the Bold list, and I was trying 'Damien Darhk' in my League of Assassins list.

For myself, it was also the first time trying 'The Wizard' and 'The Heretic', so it was going to be a learning game for me.

As we always do, we randomly rolled for our Scenario and this time rolled "The Trophy".

Table ready for deployments.

This game started off really bad for my League of Assassins, with losing my Leader, 'The Wizard' and the top of Turn 2, I moved him in the wrong direction during Turn 1 (so I can see what he can do with his shooting) and left him exposed to the Magic of 'John Constantine'.  2 Turns of Magic easily put down my Leader.  The original plan was to stay next to 'Hasssasin 1' who had a 'Rare Nth Medallion', but as stated above, I wanted to see how good he can shoot his Bow and Arrow.

After losing 'The Wizard', it was going to be a tough uphill battle, luckily I was able to score points of Objectives the first two Turns to keep in the game.

This game stayed close all the way to the end and I managed to still have 3 players on the board all scoring Objectives for me.  The game ended in a true Tie, LOA (45), BatB (48).

Not sure how I like playing with Magic yet, the times I tried it my dice rolls were so bad, I think next time I need some more Henchman going for the Objectives while I have my strong players take out my Opponents.

Battle Report: BMG 6/8/2019 (Batman vs League of Assassins)

It was a Saturday afternoon, so that meant it was time for a game of Batman Miniature Game.  I have spent the past week working on the majority of my League of Assassins models, so I wanted to see how they would perform on the tabletop.

I wanted to try 'Ras Al Ghul' and 'Robin', so  went with the following list:

We randomly rolled for our game (quite a few times since we were rolling up the same scenarios we had just played), and it was "Two Fronts".

I was a little worried about my League of Assassins getting them into combat and not shot up, but once they got into combat, they just tore things up.

'Robin' (BatB) came in to attack 'Ras' and only managed 1 Stun, he followed up right away with a rule that allows 'Batman' to activate next and 'Batman' came into 'Ras'.  I was saving most of my DC for this attack, and 'Batman' only managed 2 more Stun.  'Ras' attacked back after Inspiring 'Robin' and 'Hasssasin 1' who were next to him and managed 2 Blood.  'Gordon' dropped a Light and did some damage on 'Robin' but he survived.  'Ki' from a distance sitting on my Ammo crate took a shot at 'Batman' and managed 2 more Blood and KD.  Now 'Batman' was an easy target to hit and I still had 'Hasssasin 1' and my 'Robin' to activate.  'Hasssasin 1' struck first with 4 attacks (Inspire) and managed 4 hits, then successfully rolled all 4 damage dice for 8 Blood and killing 'Batman'.  That scored me 11 VP's, 6 for 'Batman', 2 for Assassin 2, 3 for the Scenario for killing a Boss.  LoA 'Robin' was then able to take out the BatB 'Robin'.  With the BatB losing both 'Batman' and 'Robin' in the same Round had really hurt.  The LoA manged to slaughter everyone in the city.  The last man standing was 'Alfred' and the LoA was not going to let that happen....off with his head.  The LoA cleared the board in Round 5 and won 83-7.

Battle Report: BMG 6/1/2019 (Batman vs Joker)

Yesterday afternoon it was another game of Batman Miniature Game.  This time I wanted to try a Joker list led by the new 'The Joker (Datk Knight Rises)', although we are still waiting on the models to ship from Spain, I proxied the model with my other 'Joker', this list is more geared to the ranged attack of the game.

Just like in our previous game, we used one our new mats from Mats by Mars, by I changed the rotation of the mat to give us a different look to the game.

We randomly rolled for our game, and it was "Asphalt Jungle".

Even with a lot of bad dice rolls for my 'Joker' crew, I only lost 2 models to casualty (one was a self destruct), and I had managed to wipe the table clean of any Bats.

Joker wins 52-15

Battle Report: BMG 5/27/2019 (Batman vs Joker)

With yesterday being a US Holiday (Memorial Day) it meant I was able to squeeze in another game of BMG in the extended weekend.

Before leaving for MuseOn Con, I had placed an order with Mats by Mars for one of their city street vinyl gaming mats.  I am not a fan of vinyl mats, but since we use a neoprene mat over our gaming board, I think the vinyl may work alright.  The new mat arrived while we were attending the Con, but yesterday I opened the box up to get it ready for the match.

After having to face 'Archie' from Joker's crew twice this past weekend, I thought it would be fun to try him against my son.  When I got home Sunday night from the drive back from the Con, I quickly assembled my Joker models to get them ready for a game.

Here is the list I was going to try:

350 Rep

Joker (Arkham Asylum)
Archie
White-Face
Borgon the Cursed
Rastaclown
+Magazine
Ace of Spades
Dynamite
High Security Henchman
+Grapple-gun

We randomly rolled the scenario and played "Chaos In The City"

Turn 1 Joker's crew was able to go first, so I obviously took advantage of using 'Archie' right of the bat and he entered the sewer and popped up in an alley in my son's deployment zone surround three of his models.  Along with 'Archie', those three models were also effected by Joker's Canister.

Basically I tried to avoid Batman as much as I could and concentrated on his Henchman.  By the end of the game I was able to take out all his Henchman including the Boy Wonder 'Robin'.

Joker survived himself with 2 rounds of combat vs Batman, and Joker's crew got the win 52-17.

Battle Report: BMG 5/12/2019 (Batman vs Two-Face)

Yesterday was a game of X-Wing (which I lost) and today, my son and I were able to get in 2 games of Batman Miniature Game to ready myself for MuseOn Con in 12 days.

Since at MuseOn Con we are not playing in the 350 Rep game, but instead the 250 on Friday and 200 Teams on Sunday, our practice games consisted of our 250 Rep lists.

My 'Two-Face' led Organized Crime list consisted of the following:

Organized Crime Crew
Models: 6Reputation: 238/250Funding: 1000$/1000$
[Boss][L] Two-Face [99/0$]
[H] Prisoner 04211 [18/400$]
[H] High Security Henchman [40/0$]
[H] Nen [23/0$]
[H] Tet [36/300$]
[H] Vov [22/300$]

We randomly rolled for our games, and Game #1 was "Asphalt Jungle"

Game #1

With most of the Objectives being in the center of the table, the scoring was going to be on the higher side.  My son place the Bat Signal and an Ammo Crate on top of the center building, and I kept my Objectives on ground level.

The 'Two-Face' crew managed to take care of the Cops on the ground and 'Batman' was doing work on top of the building.  I was not able to shut off the Bat Signal with 'Batman' there, but managed to not allow him to score points from the Ammo Crate.  On the ground level, my crew were able to score me VP's each turn.

In the end, 'Two-Face' got a Major Victory 48-22

The models, Objectives, Sewers and Lamp Posts were removed from the table as we prepped the mat for Game 2, we left all the terrain in the same spot and once again rolled for scenario, this time we rolled "Patrol".

Game #2

With Deployment Zones being in opposite corners, along with Objectives, I had a feeling the scoring was going to be on the lower side.

I made the move and sent some guys through the Sewers to get near my Objectives (one of them being 'Two-Face') and he managed to kill 2 Cops that were near my Ammo Crate an I managed to score points for 2 rounds with it.

'Batman' had the choice to try and turn on the Bat Signal or try to deal with my crew and scoring VP's, he went over to my crew leaving me scoring 1 VP from the Bat Signal each round,he tried to get some of his crew over to the Bat Signal but I had 2 Henchmen with guns protecting it.

In the end it was 'Batman' vs 'Two-Face ' in a stare down since neither of us could roll any good dice to do any damage.

This was a tight game, but 'Two-Face' managed a Minor Victory 18-5.

Battle Report: BMG 5/5/2019 (Batman vs Organized Crime)

After our game of Guild Ball earlier today, it was time to practice for MuseOn Con with out Batman Miniature Game lists.  I had to get some chores quickly done (cut the front grass) while my son set up the gaming table, once that was all done we were ready to roll (roll some dice).

At MuseOn Con we will be playing in a Friday night 250 Rep / $1000 game, and then on Sunday in a Dynamic Duos team event where each player will have 200 Rep / $1000, so for today's practice game, we decided to play with our 250 Rep lists.  With recently finishing my 'Two-Face' gang this past week, I decided that is who I want to play with at MuseOn Con, so I gave it a "shot".

We randomly rolled in the Batmatch doc and we were going to be playing "Looting".

I do not remember all the details of the game (I rarely do) and the game is still so new I am learning, but I made quick work of 3 of 'Batmans' Henchmen to clear out my left side of the gaming board allowing me to control 3 Objectives.  'Batman' was on my right with another one of his Henchmen while I had two of my own trying to slow them down.  One his Henchman sat on an "Ammo" Objective, my guys were done with on that side of the board, easily going down to gunfire.

I was barely up on VP (it was tight) and 'Batman' had to make a move to my side of the board.  'Tet' and 'Two-Face' were able to do some damage on 'Batman' and then 'Batman' KO 'Tet' to claim an Objective.  It was close and there was a chance the game could end in a Tie, but I was going first in the last Round and I had to open up on 'Batman' with 'Two-Face'......'Batman' went down.... Ping and Bat Armor could not save him.

Final score was 32-23 which was just a Minor Victory for Organized Crime.

Battle Report: BMG 4/14/2019 (Batman vs Grodd)

Yesterday my son and I got in another game of Batman Miniature Game, and this time we used the full 350/$1500 point values.  Seeing how my Central City Villains are now completed, I played with those 5 models: 'Grodd', 'King Shark', 'Gorilla Shaman', 'Gorilla Soldier 1' and 'Gorilla Soldier 2'.  My son was playing his newest Jim Lee 'Batman', 'Nightwing' and mix of 'Swat' and 'Arkham Guards'.

It took us awhile to actually get the game going, setup and I wanted to look over all the rules on my 5 cards since I have never played them before, but once we got the game going, we took our time were finished in about 3 hours (I was looking up a lot of rules).

We decided to randomly roll for a scenario from the Batmatch tournament rules, and we rolled 8, TWO FRONTS.

I am not recalling everything that happened in the game, but in the final round 'King Shark' was able to Knock Out 'Batman' and then 'Grodd' followed through and got the casualty, the rest of my Gorilla's went and secured Objectives.  Grodd crew won this match 38-18 and only left one 'Arkham Guard' left on the mat while 'Grodds' crew were all still alive (some barely holding on).

Battle Report: BMG 4/7/2019 (Batman vs Green Arrow)

Yesterday my son walked me through another game of Batman Miniature Game, last time we played was back in September at the NOVA Open (open play) an it was time for a refresher course.

MuseOn Con at the end of May has 3 Batman events, and the two of us are going to be playing in 2 events.  Friday Night is "The Dark Knight" 250/$1000 and on Sunday is the "Dynamic Duo" 2 man teams 200/$500.  So for yesterdays practice we decided just to play with 200/$500.

My son played 'Batman' (Modern) and 'Robin' (Boy Wonder) and I went with 'Green Arrow' and 'Spartan'.

It took us awhile to set the board up as I wanted to go through each step slowly and try and learn/soak it all up, and then to glance over my 2 cards and make sure I understand what each of them could do.  Luckily I found a person that makes nice portrait shaped cards with some of the rules printed right on them so we do not have to search the rulebook constantly.

'Robin' activated first and walked into the middle of the alley and happened to be near a Lamppost.  'Green Arrow' used his Grapple Gun and went to the roof of the building and did his Multi Arrows (One Use) shot on 'Robin', 'Green Arrow' was very successful causing 6 Injury and making 'Robin' the first Casualty of the game.  'Batman' then decided to Grapple Gun to the same room and attack the 'Green Arrow' and easily casing a Knock Out to tie up the game 6-6.

Round 2 not much happened with the 'Green Arrow' as he failed his Recovery, so 'Batman' punched him some more now causing 3 Injury.  Spartan was able to score 2 points on an Objective.

Round 3 'Green Arrow' was able to get up this time and do a little damage to 'Batman' and Grapple Gun his way down to a 3 VP Objective, 'Spartan' took a shot at 'Batman' too, and 'Batman' came down to score points on an Objective, 11-8.

Round 4 'Batman' attacked 'Spartan', 'Spartan' attacked back and then walked away leaving 'Green Arrow' with a shot on 'Batman'.  'Batman' was near death as the 'Green Arrow' yelled out "Batman you have failed this city" and placed an arrow right through his heart for the killshot, no Ping rolls were able to save 'Batman'.  I scored 6 VP for the Casualty plus 3 for the Objective making the score 20-6.  I had then also scored 5 VP from the Scenario making the final tally 25-6.

With only 2 models on each side, it is not a good representation of a full game, with a lot of cheap Henchmen running around scoring VP's from Objectives, I am sure would change the game a lot.  I just wanted to get anther feeler for the game.

I do like 'Green Arrow' a lot, and plan on using him quite often, but I will also throw down with some of the Villains too.

I would also like to get in another game sooner than later so the rules can stick with me.  I have a 'Grodd Team' arriving today which I will work on assembling tonight, not sure if I will try them unpainted, or continue with 'Green Arrow' and then try 'Grodd' when he is painted.

We shall see.........
