W40K: Necrons 'Illuminor Szeras'

I skipped on yesterdays "Weekly Chronicle", but there was not much news to report.  I did manage a game with my Necrons at a full 2000 Points that took us (me) a long time to play as I was still learning all te synergies of my army.

In that game was used this model, 'Illuminor Szeras', he looks great on paper now that we have a lot of Core Units, but he is a bit slow for some of the heavy hitters in the army.  More practice will be needed with this big guy.

W40K: Necrons 'Plasmancer I'

This is another HQ Unit that was included in the Indomitus box last year, his main benefit is buff other Cryptek Units in the army.  When the enemy does get close to him, he can also dish out some Mortal Wounds which will be really nice.

With this model, I have also tied last years "Painting Points" with 218 points, and I still have some more points coming this year.

W40K: Necrons 'Overlord' (Resurrection Orb / Warscythe)

I really wanted this Necron 'Overlord' model with Resurrection Orb and Warscythe that was about to purchase him separately, but I came across a great deal and gift cards that I ended up just getting the Combat Patrol box and this 'Overlord' was included in it.

W40K: Necrons 'Overlord' (Tachylon Arrow / Hyperphase Glaive)

I have been falling behind on my posts for my new Necron army.  Continuing with working on HQ Units, up next is the 'Overlord' that came inside the Indomitus box, he is armed with a Tachylon Arrow and Hyperphase Glaive.

Weekly Chronicle 2021 #47

There was no gaming to be had this week, as I had a few days vacation last week (Thurs/Fri) and wanted to spend the time painting/modeling,  I am happy with my outcome because what I had planned for the weekend, I was able to accomplish, and this is more work on my Necron army.

My model posts are lacking behind what is actually finished (since I try and only post once a day, if that) but my Necron army is way ahead of schedule.  I do know have enough to field 1500 points full painted, and I am really close to 2000 points (and that is without 'The Silent King').

Here is a little sneak peek of the army prior to this past weekend.

I still have plenty more models that are not assembled yet (most of the Combat Patrol Box, The Silent King and Tesseract Vault) and I am thinking about getting the Necron Batleforce box that will be released in Decemeber, so the backlog is plentiful.

I wanted to get enough done for AdeptiCon if I decide to play them in the Warhammer 40,000 Friendly (which I now have), so the rest of the models will be getting done as time allows.

The plan for this coming weekend is to try them out at 1500 Points, and "maybe" at 2000 Points if I can get another Unit completed by Saturday.

W40K: Necrons 'Royal Warden I'

Here is an HQ model that came in the Indomitus box, that actually has some benefits, but may not see the table that often, the 'Royal Warden'.

I am trying to fit him into some lists, but am having  hard time, there are already a lot of really good HQ choices.  He has an ability that allows a CORE unit to Fall Back, Shoot, and Charge again, which can be really beneficial with all the added CORE keyword updates the Necrons received recently.

W40K: Necrons 'Triarch Praetorians I'

I have one more Unit to post before I move onto my HQ Units, and that is this Fast Attack Unit, the 'Triarch Praetorians'.  With the "Rod of Covenant" in hand, these guys are deadly in Shooting and Melee.  On the plus side, with the recent update to Warhammer 40,000, this Unit is now considered Core.

Weekly Chronicle 2021 #46

Now that I am in full Necron mode, it has been a pretty good week painting.  My goal was to have 1500 Points of Necrons finished in time for AdeptiCon 2022 in March, and it is looking like those will be completed by the end of this month.

I am alright with that, it will then leave 2022 to painting other Units for the Necrons that will like to eventually try and allow some time to paint for other armies.  I was able to complete 3 'Lokhust Destroyers' and 2 Units of 'Skorpekh Destroyers'.

Gaming has been a little low this year, where this past Saturday I only played my 25th game of Warhammer 40,000 for the year.  I did hit my goal for the year, but honestly thought I would have far exceeded it, but do we do have a few more weeks left in the year.

We played  2000 Point Las Vegas Friendly practice game and I got a first look at the army I am thinking of bringing.  It is well themed with Bolt(ers) but that may also be the downside, not much fire power I am used to in my games.  Because my son was not fully painted, the end result was much closer, 65-69, I lost.

I only have 1 weapon that is a S7 on my 'Predator Destructor' and it was taken out early in the game, after that, the strongest weapon I have are S5 Heavy Bolters.  I know LVO is a Friendly and more geared towards theme, but I feel naked without my fire power....oh well, hopefully we'll score high on theme.

W40K: Necrons 'Skorpekh Destroyers I'

Now that my big guns are done for my Necrons, it is time to move onto to some melee Units for the army.

I have two Units of 3 'Skorpekh Destroyers' that I can run as one big Unit of 6, or two smaller Units of 3, I like having the option of playing them anywhere from 3-6 models.

These guys are bad arse in melee and having a 'Canoptek Plasmacyte' next to them makes them even badder.

W40K: Necrons 'Lokhust Heavy Destroyer III'

This the last of my 'Lokhust Heavy Destroyers' for now, filling out three models armed with Gauss Destructors.  If in the future I add more of these models, I think those will be armed with the Enmitic Exterminators which will provide me with more shots, but the Strength and AP are not as good.

W40K: Necrons 'Lokhust Heavy Destroyer II'

As mentioned yesterday, I am working on a Unit of 3 'Lokhust Heavy Destroyers', and today is 'Lokhust Heavy Destroyer II'.

This Necron army is really coming along much faster than I had anticipated, at this rate the core of the army will be completed this year and not next year like I had thought.

W40K: Necrons 'Lokhust Heavy Destroyer I'

This week will be all about adding some Heavy firepower to my Necrons army.  Having a lot of foot slogging Infantry is great, but I need some big guns to take down some enemy Vehicles.

I have 3 'Lokhust Heavy Destroyers' that I am working on, and each gun is a Strength 10 and dish out from 3-9 Damage each.  I can run them from anywhere between 1-3 models in the Unit, but there is a Stratagem that allows re-rolls to Wound, so it would be best to run them as 1 Unit.

All 3 will be identically painted, and here is the first one.

Weekly Chronicle 2021 #45

The first week of November is now completed, and it was actually a pretty good week for me.  I have been full throttle with painting my Necrons army, and I do not think that reaching 1500 Points completed by AdeptiCon 2022 will be a problem.

The rest of this month will still be dedicated to the Necrons.  I still have 20x 'Necron Warriors' that need to be painted, but I have a couple of vacation days next week that I will commit to that Unit.  Once that Unit is completed, then all my Troop choices will be completed.  The rest of this week I am painting a variety of Units for the army.

Then this past Saturday we also played a 1000 Point game and I tested the Necron force and they prevailed in victory.  I still have a lot to learn to with this army, but so far they have been fun to play with,

W40K: Necron Reinforcements

Originally I added just a few additional Units to my Necrons army from the models that came with the Indomitus box, but now I am pretty committed to them for 2022.

I added the 'Tesseract Vault' to bump me from 1000 Points to 1500 Points, but then a local gaming store to us was having a 25% off sale last weekend and they happened to have 'The Silent King', at that kind of discount and helping a local store, it was a no brainer.  Then the other day I received a $50 credit for Amazon, and why not, let's add the 'Combat Patrol' box, I was needing the 'Overlord' from that box anyways.

I am sure there will be more purchased for them, but this is plenty of models to keep me busy trough the Winter months.

W40K: Necrons 'Immortals II'

My second Unit of Troops for my Necrons army, and it is another Unit of 'Immortals', and the last of that particular Unit for now.  The next Troop Units will be 'Necron Warriors', but it will be a little bit before I get around to painting 20 of them.

W40K: Necrons 'Immortals I'

It is time to start moving onto some Troop choices for my Necrons army.  The Indomitus box did come with 20 'Necron Warriors' and I will eventually be getting to those also, but I had also purchased two boxes of 'Immortals' and will be starting with those Units first.

I elected to models these with the longer range Gauss Blasters which also have a better AP than the shorter range Tesla Carbines.

This was also the first of the models painted so far where I got to see how my 'red' scheme looks on the guns.

W40K: Necrons 'Canoptek Reanimator I'

Moving right along with the Necrons, currently I am "way" ahead of schedule on painting this army, and that is a good thing.

Another model that came in the Indomitus box is the 'Canoptek Reanimator'.  It is another Unit in the Elite spot (which there are a lot of with Necrons) and a current cost of 80 Points.  His weapon is very short ranged, but the model does help other Units with their Reanimation Protocols.

Weekly Chronicle 2021 #44 Welcome November

My final Painting Quarter is shaping up to be a good one, what a month I had in October with finishing up some of my Imperial Fists Units, and then starting on a brand new Necron army.

My goal with the Necron army is to have 1500 Points ready for the AdeptiCon Friendly at the end of March, well at the pace I am currently going, it should not be a problem.  The painting scheme I came up with for my Necrons is coming out pretty quickly, yet looks really good on the table top.

I honestly do not know how well that 1500 Point list will play, but it is a Friendly and I am not too worried about it.  I am working on some 2000 Points lists that "should" be a bit stronger with digging into the 'Vault' for some Mortal Wounds, but we must stay 'Silent' about that list.

This week here on the blog will be more Necrons as I continue working on them.
