Guild Ball: Fisherman's Guild Reveal 'Knuckles'

It seems like Guild Ball news is too few and far between, but it looks like this week we are getting some updates from Steamforged Games.

The Free Cities Draft Rookies are finally being revealed this week and the first one was today for the Fisherman's Guild with 'Knuckles'.  You can read all about 'Knuckles' on the SFG blog HERE, and his stat card is below.

Guild Ball: Miners and Captains and Boar, Oh My!

WOW! one week for me to receive a package from the UK, and it even had a tracking number that worked all the way till it was delivered.

Last week my order for the new Miner's Minor Guild and my new Captains 'Yukai', 'Mourn' and 'Veteran Boar' ('Steeljaw' delayed) were shipped and my package just arrived this afternoon.

It was now time for a quick unboxing.

Looks like 'Veteran Boar' is going to have to be assembled and quickly painted for AdeptiCon.

Guild Ball: Fisherman’s Guild ‘Kraken’

Finally, the last fish in the pond.  My Fisherman’s Guild is now complete, all 12 models.  The last model to be completed is ‘Kraken’, a Centre Back for the Guild.  ‘Kraken’ is more of the beatstick for the team with a 2” Melee Zone, TAC 5 and a Momentous KD on 1.  ‘Kraken’ plays along side ‘Veteran Siren’ nicely which was in yesterdays post.

Guild Ball: Fisherman’s Guild ‘Veteran Siren’

Down to the final 2 Fisherman models and then the Guild will be complete.

Today we have ‘Veteran Siren’ an Attacking Midfieder for the Guild.

Along with ‘Siren’, ‘Veteran Siren’ had some changes done to her in the last errata.  ‘Veteran Sirens’ Playbook was changed.  I honestly do not recall what exactly changed in her Playbook.

Guild Ball: Fisherman’s Guild ‘Tentacles’

Yesterday it was the second Captain for the Fisherman’s Guild, today it is the second Mascot for the Guild with ‘Tentacles’.  With that I have a full 10 man Team painted for Regional Cup play with only ‘Kraken’ and ‘Veteran Siren’ left to paint to comnplete the full Guild.

I actually like the way ‘Tentacles’ came out, and the picture itself is not to bad either.  Now that I have been getting the Fisherman painted lately, it is gicing me the itch to get them on the Pitch again.  I would drive up to Grand Rapids for a game tonight (so it would also count for The Union in Chains), but car troubles and picking up my pet from the Vet looks like it will keep me from playing tonight.

Guild Ball: Fisherman’s Guild ‘Corsair’

Well with missing the Michigan GT last weekend for Warmachine, it allowed a little bit of free time to get some painting done.  I still have to start on the Blacksmith’s Guild, but I have been hesitant to start on them becasue I want to be able to spend a little extra time painting that Guild.  The Blacksnith’s will have to hit the painting table by November to make sure they are ready to go for SteamCon USA.

So I took a look at my shelf of unfinished Guild Ball blisters and decided to grab some Fisherman.  I still have 4 models left to paint for the Fisherman to finish them at 12 models.  So I decided to grab ‘Corsair’ and get him built and prepped for painting.

‘Corsair’ is the second Captain for the Fisherman’s Guild alongside ‘Shark’, and I hear he can be a little difficult to play with.  Although 2 weeks ago at the WTC in Belgium, ‘Corsair’ was being played a lot and did fairly decent.  I may have to go and take a look at some of those videos to see how he should be played.

He came really nice (at least in my eyes), but the picture does him no justice.

Guild Ball: More Goodies Inbound

This past Saturday my wife and I took a trip 75 miles North to Grand Rapids, Michigan.  Since moving to Michigan last fall it was the first time I visited the city.  Grand Rapids is a pretty decent sized city (probably the largest in Western Michigan) with a couple of different shopping malls.  So since she was off from work that day, we took a little road trip.  Up in Grand Rapids is also a gaming store called Big Kidz Games, I have been meaning to check out that store, but 150 miles round trip is a lot of gas.  So this was a perfect time to check it out. I could pick up some model for my Guild Ball Guilds, and then I can take the wife to the shopping malls.

It has not been officially stated yet, but it looks like Steamforged Games will be eliminating the single model blisters and move towards packaging the Guilds with 6 Players in a box.  A few months ago they have been re-releasing the models in these 6 Player boxes, and the new Farmer's and Blacksmith's Guilds are coming packaged with 6 Players.  The local gaming stores are also stating they can no longer order the indivdual models and Steamforged have also removed them from their website.  I can see where this is easier for them to sell the product, and local gaming stores just stocking the boxes (not having to make room for all the individual model), but a gamer/collector that already has some of these models and just looking to fill in a few missing models, it will be harder for them.

Once I've seen the pattern shift towards this trend, I decided to slowly start filling in my missing models to complete all the Guilds.  So while up at Big Kidz Games, I purchased everything that I needed that they had in stock.

Fisherman's Guild:
Corsair
Kraken
Tentacles
Veteran Siren

Mason's Guild:
Chisel
Veteran Harmony
Wrecker

Mortician's Guild:
Veteran Graves
Vileswarm

The Union:
Fangtooth
Strongbox

I am still short 4 models, for the Mortician's 'Brainpan and Memory' (2 models, single blister) and for The Union 'Mist' and 'Snakeskin'.  I am also short 6 models for the Brewer's Guild, but coming this October, those 6 Brewer's models will be packaged in a boxed set and I will just make that purchase.

There are still other models that I do not have like Limited Edition versions, Resin versions, and Kickstarter versions, but my goal is to have all of the regular models for the Guilds.  Then going forward I can just purchase the new 6 Player Guild boxes.

Looks like I am keeping myself busy with Guild Ball.

Guild Ball: Fisherman's Guild 'Hag'

Today we have my final model for the Fisherman's Guild (at least for now...).....'Hag'.  With 'Hag' I went with a sligtly more dirtier than look the rest of the Guild, she is an old hag afterwards and wanted her to look her part.  'Hag' is a new model that was recently added to the Fisherman's in this Seasn 3.  Looking briefly at her card, it is nice that she can do a free Character Play each turn.  She can also start each activation with a free [2"] Dodge in Shadow Like and one of her plays Fisher's Reel target other friendly model for a [2"] Dodge.

So what will be working on next?  I am currently waiting on 'Crucible' to arrive for my Alchemist's Guild   'Crucible' is also a Season 3 released model and is really new to the game.  I am hoping she arrives in time to get her painted up before I leave for Arizona next week.  So while I wait for her to arrive.....maybe we'll throw in some Brewer's.

Guild Ball: Fisherman's Guild 'Siren'

Two more models to complete for my Fisherman's Guild before I can move onto another project.  Today we have 'Siren' a Winger for the Fisherman's.  From my readings on the interweb, I hear that she is an 'auto include' for most teams, seeing how I have yet to play Fisherman, I am still trying to figure that out.  Her Character Play's Lure and Seduced do look really good, but I am still liking 'Angel' an another scoring threat with 'Shark'.  Unless for fun I run all three together... 'Shark', 'Siren', 'Angel'.

Guild Ball: Fisherman's Guild 'Shark'

He we are, the final model for my playable 6 for my Fisherman's Guild, the Captain 'Shark'.  'Shark' is one of "the" goal scorers in Guild Ball ('Midas' being the other one).  With Quick Foot it can extend his MOV to 9"/11" , plus he has Light Footed that allows him to ignores MOV penalty for rough-ground.  His KICK stat is also impressive with a 4/8".

In 10 days I wiull be heading back to Arizona to pick up my wife and youngest son and make the drive back to Michigan, but I plan on bringing my Guild Ball players with me and get a few games in with my oldest son.  I'd like to give the Fisherman a try (after a few games with my Engineer's).  I do still have two more models for the Fisherman's Guild, 'Siren' and 'Hag' and those models are on deck and will be completed this week also.
