Guild Ball: Alchemist's Guild 'Soma/Pneuma'

I had to change it up a bit from painting Imperial Fists for Warhammer 40K, so I thought I would go ahead and get a model painted for Guild Ball.

'Soma/Pneuma' is from the latest wave of new Captains was just released this past December and is the first player in Guild Ball with dual roles /duel cards.  The character can change between 'Soma' and 'Pneuma' during the game.

My son is leaning towards playing this model for AdeptiCon, so I wanted to get it done, now the question is, should we paint it as 'Soma' or 'Pneuma'.  For the sake of speed, we elected for 'Pneuma', we can always purchase another model in the future if we want it to look like 'Soma'.  There are 2 cards for the model during the game, so you just flip to which card you are playing so it does not cause any confusion.

Painting the model still took a little bit of time even though it was all greens, started with a darker shade of green and worked my way up, then a green wash followed wit more shades of green and green/yellow until the model was completed.

Guild Ball: Cook's Guild Limited Edition 'Tenderiser'

The last model of my Cook's Guild is officially complete.  As I mentioned yesterday, this past weekend got me the urge to try the Guild out for the first time and finish my last two models.

I am sill undecided if I will switch to them for the NOVA Open (instead of my Butcher's Guild) but I will make that decision this weekend after I get to try out my new Rookie for the Butcher's, 'Layne'.  Part of me wants to earn the BUtcher's Guild badge on Longshanks (20 consecutive tournament games with the same Guild) and I am still needing 10 games.  So I am stuck in between, part of me wants to play the new Guild, part of me wants to earn the badge.  More than likely I will play the Butcher's and hopefully get my Badge by November.

Anyways, the final model for my Cook's, Guild  is their Goalkeeper, Limited Edition 'Tenderiser' model.

Guild Ball: Cook's Guild Limited Edition 'Shank'

While getting ready to play the Cook's Guild for the first time this past Sunday, it got me motivated to start working on my final two models for the Guild, the Limited Edition 'Shank' and 'Tenderiser' models.  These models came in the Organized Play box I ordered many months ago which had arrived after my Cook's Guild Tournament that had hosted in March.

I got my models assembled on Sunday prior to my game and applied a few coats.  Well 'Shank' is now completed and ready for the Pitch.

Guild Ball: Butcher's Guild 'Layne'

Today is the day I have been waiting for, another Striker for my Butcher's Guild with 'Layne'.  As much as I love doing Taken Outs, I also do like to score Goals, and to change it up a bit, I think for fun I will try a scoring team, it may not be as competitive, but to have two scoring players with 'Brisket' and 'Layne', it may be a fun game, still may need to play 'Cinnamon' if I elect to play 'Veteran Boar' as my Captain.

Now that completes the models needed for playing in this year's NOVA Open at the end of the month.  With only playing X-Wing (pre-painted miniatures) and Guild Ball, we are now all set.  All that is left is to get in some practice games of Guild Ball once the new errata drops on August 12th (I know it will be a busy night for me getting all the new cards ready for printing).

Guild Ball: Hunter's Guild 'Edge'

Wow, it has been nearly three months since I last painted a Guild Ball model (Cook's Guild), I have been busy painting BMG models.  Well, I now have one less thing to worry about completing for the NOVA Open at the end of the month.  'Edge' is now completed for my son's Hunter's Guild.

Guild Ball: Cook's Guild 'Wellington'

Finally the last model for the Cook's Minor Guild is completed (well sort of, I still have the Limited Edition 'Shank' and 'Tenderiser' that I will eventually get to).  It really feels good to get another Guild completed start to finish.

The last model to be completed is the Captain himself, 'Wellington'.

Guild Ball: Second Wave Captains Arrive

Officially the new second wave Captains come out today, but on Wednesday May 1st I received and email that my order had shipped with my new Captains.  I thought there actually may be a chance I will receive them by today, sure enough yesterday afternoon my package arrived in the mail.

The second wave of Captains consist of 'Corbelli' for the Mason's, 'Rivet' for the Engineer's, 'Culverin'/'Cutlass' for the Blacksmith's and 'Corker' for the Brewer's Guild (who I am most excited for to paint and play).

More than likely the first model I'll tackle (pun intended) on the painting table will be 'Corker' (as I said most excited for), then followed by 'Culverin'/'Cutlass' since that is the Guild my son plays the most after his Hunter's.

Not sure where these models fill in with my painting queue at the moment, I am wrapping up my Cook's Guild and then may move onto some more BMG, but we'll see.

Guild Ball: Cook's Guild 'Pepper'

For some reason I enjoy painting Mascots, probably since they are usually animals and it gives it a nice change of pace from painting people all the time.

Once 'Cinnamon' and 'Roast' was completed, I knew it was time for the Cook's Guild Mascot 'Pepper' to be next.

Guild Ball: Cook's Guild 'Roast'

My two Minor Guild models that can work for my Butcher's Guild are now completed (I am happy), now I can slowly get to finish the remaining 4 models from the Cook's Minor Guild.

The second model that needed to be completed is 'Roast' a Defensive Midfielder with a Big Belly.

Guild Ball: Cook's Guild 'Cinnamon'

My Cook's Minor Guild arrived very late towards the end of April, and finally yesterday I was able to get one of them on the painting table and completed for this weekend's tournament.

I really want to use 'Cinnamon' this weekend so my Butcher's guild can benefit from the extra +2"/+2" MOV from Get Set BAKE!

Guild Ball: Unboxing 'The Cook's Guild: Hell's Kitchen'

Well finally while I was out of town this past weekend for "Spring Fling", my Cook's Guild arrived.  I really could have used 'Cinnamon' this past weekend when playing Captain 'Veteran Boar'.

I have another tournament this upcoming Sunday, I may just have to play her unpainted and then hopefully get her completed in time for the following weekend in Chicago or the end of the month for "MuseOn Con".

Along with the box set "Hell's Kitchen", it also included the Limited Edition 'Wellington', and then I also had to purchase the Cook' Guild dice.
