Guild Ball: Mason's Guild 'Hammer'

I am now finally to the point where I am catching up with models that were painted in September.  Up until now the previous Mason Players I had completed at the end of August.

Since I missed yesterday's post, I will double up on model posts again today.

First up we have the second Captain for the Mason's Guild, 'Hammer'.

This was the first model my son had purchased for the Mason's to compliment the original Kick-Off! 6.  He added him to the collection back at AdeptiCon 2017 in March.  I am glad 6 months later he is completed.

'Hammer' went through some eratta changes at the end of July to make him more playable, it seems most Mason players were choosing 'Honour' as their Captain.

2 of the big changes to his card were, all 3 of his Character Plays's were increased from 4" to 6" and his Heroic Play was moved to become his Legendary Play.

'Hammer' came out really really nice, but my pictures below do not do him justice.

Guild Ball: Mason's Guild 'Mallet'

Now we have 'Mallet', a Defensive Midfielder for the Mason's Guild.  I actually like the stats on this card a lot.

His Character Play Singled Out on a Playbook result of 1 will then give him a TAC 7 for his remaining attacks along with Extended Reach maing his melee zone 3".

'Mallet' seems like the type of player that can actually put out some damage.

Guild Ball: Mason's Guild 'Harmony'

'Harmony', a Winger for the Mason's Guild with not a great KICK stat.  I was hoping for a Winger she would at least be a 3/6" instead of the 2/6" that she is.  Luckily for her she has Family [Honour] so when 'Harmony' starts her activation within 8" of 'Honour',  she can replace her TAC and KICK with that of 'Honour's', giving her a TAC of 6 and a KICK 4/6".

On the plus side, a Momentous Tackle on a 1 is always good to have.  'Harmony' can tackle the ball, Acrobatic away, and then pass the ball.

Guild Ball: Mason's Guild 'Granite'

A few weeks I visited a local gaming store down in South Bend that had a few Guild Ball models (thoough I wish the gaming scene for Guild Ball was more popular down there) and I knew my son was going to soon be shipping the Kick-Off! Mason's Guild to me.  So while there I came across the Season III 'Granite' model for the Mason's.  Since I am trying to collect all the Guidl Ball models, I decided to pick her up.

'Granite' was actually the first model I painted for the Mason's Guild.  I used her as a test bed for my team color scheme.  I really do like the look of the this model and enjoyed painting her.  Too bad she is not played that often (I hear it is because of her slow movement).

Daily Chronicle: What's in Queue for September/October/November

I have a tendancy to get involved in too many game systmes at one time, but this year I am kind of shocked that the last 6 months I have mainly concentrated just on Guild Ball.  The problem I am having is getting games in.  Where I am at there is no one that close that can play, I do have one person, but with his work schedule it can be tough.  My other option is to drive 170 miles round trip up North to Grand Rapids and I have yet to make that trip.  So right it now it has mainly just been collecting/painting the different Guilds.  There is a friendly Farmer's Guild event taking place on Sepetember 16th up in Grand Rapids that I am playing on attending.  It will be good to get a few more practice games in and my first with the Butcher's Guild.

So what is the plan for the rest of September?  I am finishing off showcasing the Mason's Guild that I have been working on at the end of August and I have 2 models for this month, 'Hammer' and 'Tower'.

Then I plan on filling in some missing models for a few other Guilds.

Buther's Guild I have 'Veteran Brisket', 'Veteran Ox', and 'Truffles.
Alchemist's Guild I have 'Veteran Katalyst' and 'Flask'.

I still have a Union Guild that needs to get done (only 'Harry the Hat' is completed), but that may be a long term project or when I feel like painting a few different models.

For the Fall time at the end of the Month, we will be starting on the new Farmers's Guild "The Honest Land".  More than likely that may fall (pun intended) into October.  Being only 6 models, it should not tale me too long to get them done, but I plan on spending a little extra time on these guys.

The Farmer's Guild

Then for November, the plan is to start on the pre-release Blacksmith's Guild that was available at GenCon a few weeks ago.  I happened to just ordered a box on the secondary market (for not a bad price) and these guys will see the table then.  I am in no rush to get them done right away, so I will dedicate the month to them.  The plan is to get these guys done by SteamCon USA the first weekend in December.

The Blacksmith's Guild

As you can tell, my Warmachine/Hordes interest has slipped the past 6 months.  I think it is mainly due to all the CID changes I hear and theme/rules changes, it is getting harder to keep up with all the changes.  I still love the models from the game....and you never know....I may throw one on the table here or there.  After the new year and my son and I prepare what events we are going to want to play at AdeptiCon 2018, you may see some more models hit the blog (along with possibly a few Bolt Action models if time allows...I am really slacking on getting our Airborne armies done, we may have to fall back and use armies we already have completed).

Guild Ball: Mason's Guild 'Marbles'

For my second post of the day and for the Mason's Guild, we have one of their Mascots with 'Marbles'.  I really enjoy painting Mascots/animals for teams, and I am a little disappointed to hear that the upcoming Blacksmith's Guild will not have a Mascot.

Along with 'Marbles', we only have the 'Ball' from the Mason's Kick-Off! box.

Guild Ball: Mason's Guild 'Honour'

Since yesterday I was not able to start my posts for the Mason's Guild (took the family to the Michigan Renaissance Festival) I will do a double post today.

First up for our Mason's Guild will be one of their Captains with 'Honour'.

'Honour' seems to be the "go to" Capatain of choice currently for the Mason's Guild, though 'Hammer' just got a change with the recent errata at the end of July, so we'll see if he is going to be getting some more playing time in.

Guild Ball: Building with the Mason's

Back in March at AdeptiCon 2017, my son and I purchased the Guild Ball Kick Off! starter box.  As I mentioned when I painted my Brewer's a few months ago, we split the starter box between the two of us.  Brewer's for me and Mason's for my son.  While at AdeptiCon he also purchased 'Hammer', the second Captain for the Mason's.  Well my son's priorities are gaming over painting (I've painted the 9 Butcher's while he is still painting 1 of his Hunter's).  I left him my painted Alchemist's Guild with him back in May so he has a painted Guild to play with.

I finally told him about two weeks ago to just ship me the Mason's and I'll get them painted.  While at a LGS not long ago I had picked up 'Granite' for the Mason's so I was itching to get her painted, so I thought I might as well start working on the entire Guild..

This weekend here in the US, it is Labor Day Weekend.  So it is only fitting to start working on the Mason's Guild.
