This past Saturday my wife and I took a trip 75 miles North to Grand Rapids, Michigan. Since moving to Michigan last fall it was the first time I visited the city. Grand Rapids is a pretty decent sized city (probably the largest in Western Michigan) with a couple of different shopping malls. So since she was off from work that day, we took a little road trip. Up in Grand Rapids is also a gaming store called Big Kidz Games, I have been meaning to check out that store, but 150 miles round trip is a lot of gas. So this was a perfect time to check it out. I could pick up some model for my Guild Ball Guilds, and then I can take the wife to the shopping malls.
It has not been officially stated yet, but it looks like Steamforged Games will be eliminating the single model blisters and move towards packaging the Guilds with 6 Players in a box. A few months ago they have been re-releasing the models in these 6 Player boxes, and the new Farmer's and Blacksmith's Guilds are coming packaged with 6 Players. The local gaming stores are also stating they can no longer order the indivdual models and Steamforged have also removed them from their website. I can see where this is easier for them to sell the product, and local gaming stores just stocking the boxes (not having to make room for all the individual model), but a gamer/collector that already has some of these models and just looking to fill in a few missing models, it will be harder for them.
Once I've seen the pattern shift towards this trend, I decided to slowly start filling in my missing models to complete all the Guilds. So while up at Big Kidz Games, I purchased everything that I needed that they had in stock.

I am still short 4 models, for the Mortician's 'Brainpan and Memory' (2 models, single blister) and for The Union 'Mist' and 'Snakeskin'. I am also short 6 models for the Brewer's Guild, but coming this October, those 6 Brewer's models will be packaged in a boxed set and I will just make that purchase.
There are still other models that I do not have like Limited Edition versions, Resin versions, and Kickstarter versions, but my goal is to have all of the regular models for the Guilds. Then going forward I can just purchase the new 6 Player Guild boxes.
Looks like I am keeping myself busy with Guild Ball.
Coming down to the final 2 models for the Mason's Guild. I think once the Mason's get wrapped up, it will finally be time to start working on the Farmers's Guild. The Fall Season is coming really soon and there is not a better time to be working on 'The Honest Land'. Anyways, back to the Mason's. Today we have a Veteran Attacking Midfielder with 'Veteran Harmony'.
Well today's post was suppose to be a battle report of the Farmer's Release Event in Grand Rapids yesterday, but this past Thursday I came down with a cold and when I woke up yesterday I still was not feeling that good to attend the event. I did not think it would be right to stand 3' across from someone coughing and sneezing all day. So I am really disappointed in missing the event since it was classified as a friendly event and not a tournament, and needed to just get some more games in.
Today we have the big guy for the Alchemist's Guild, 'Veteran Katalyst'. My son really likes this model because it kind of reminds him of Bane. At least for now the Alchemist's are completed. My son still has 'Smoke' unpainted back in Arizona, but he will send me that model next month and I'll get her done in time for SteamCon USA so that way he will have a complete Alchemist's Guild.
It's been a few months since I worked on any Alchemist models (I believe it was back in May), but now that my Butcher's Guild is completed, it is time to finish off some of the other Guilds. I have 2 models to finish for the Alchemist's Guild, 'Flask' and 'Veteran Katalyst', and my son back in Arizona still has 'Smoke' to complete. I have a feeling he will be sending 'Smoke' back with my wife next month when she visits down there so that I can conmplete her.
'Forged From Steel' is the new 6 man plastic Blacksmith's Guild that is set to release to the general public on November 17th, 2017 for $50.00. Back at GenCon in mid August, Steamforged Games were selling these Guild sets to the people in attendance. They were limiting them to 100 boxes per day across the 4 days of the convention.
Here we have the final model for the Butcher's Guild with 'Veteran Brisket'. All 12 models for the Butcher's are completed and now it is time to actually get same games in with them. Big Kidz Games up in Grand Rapids is having a friendly Farmer's release event this Saturday. The plan is to attend and get in 4 fun games. The detail of the event lists it as a friendly event and not a tournament, so I am looking forward to trying out some of the different models. Especially here with 'Veteran Brisket', a lot of Butcher players say she is a most becasue she does more damage and has a greater TAC than 'Brisket', but 'Brisket' to me seems like a better a kicker especially with Super Shot.

Well the Mason's Guild paint colors are put away for a few days and we are going to slide back to the Butcher's Guild for a few days. I only needed 3 more Butcher's Guild models to complete the entire Guild, and we are going to start them off with their second Mascot 'Truffles'.
For my second Mason's model of the day, we have a Defensive Midfielder with 'Tower'. I actually just painted this model up this past Friday night and enjoyed painting him. Yes my color scheme is the same through out my Mason's (my intentions, I like my Guild to have a look of a Team) but the quality of the metal miniatures are a joy to paint.
