MCP: The Original Human Torch (Jim Hammond)

As I mentioned the other day, my painting of models has drastically slowed down, with 90+ models completed for Marvel Crisis Protocol, I am in the mood now to just paint what I feel like.  I am no longer rushed to get a model completed for an event (at least not until the next "hotness", so I am just enjoying myself (although there will be some models needed for MeSBG that will have to make their way to my table, but that is a different post).

This next model, I saw a user on Facebook post his version and how easily he painted it and it looked good, I thought "I could do that" and yesterday I did just that.

MCP: Iron Man (Tony Stark) (2)

September has been a very slow month for me this year, but I did recently manage to finish another model for Marvel Crisis Protocol.

Recently I decided to purchase another Core Set (which we should have done originally when we started playing), but anyways we wanted to have another 'Captain America' and 'Iron Man' in case my son and I both want to play Avengers at the same time.

I decided to tackle 'Iron Man' first (since I knew now how to paint him like my 'Hulkbuster').  This is the second copy of Iron Man (Tony Stark) that we own.

MCP: Malekith (Malekith The Accursed)

Well I honestly did not think I would be getting around to painting this big guy so quickly, he looked a little intimidating and usually when I see that, the model sits on the shelf for a bit.

I decided to tackle this guy earlier in the week and was able to complete him Tuesday morning, the stripes could have came out a bit better, but from across the tabletop, he looks alright.

MCP: Darkstar (Laynia Petrovna)

Last but not least to finish out the new Winter Guard Affiliation for Marvel Crisis Protocol is 'Darkstar'.

Looking at her picture upon release, I was a little worried on what the assembly may be like with all the effect around her hands and legs, but this model was not that bad at all to assemble, much easier than what I had thought.

MCP: Crimson Dynamo (Dimitri Bukharin)

Similar to the Avengers 'Iron Man', the Winter Guard have 'Crimson Dynamo' who happens to be the Leader for this Affiliation.

'Crimson Dynamos' Leadership is also pretty handy, removing one special condition for free each activation, and a chance at a die roll when securing objectives from being pushed.

MCP: Ursa Major (Mikhail Ursus)

I enjoy painting creatures (the one reason I used to like painting Hordes for Warmachine),   and when I found out the Winter Guard were getting a bear, I was excited.

When I first saw some pictures on Facebook of the assembled model, it did not look like any fur was sculpted into the model, but after receiving mine and assembling it, luckily it was there, albeit very finely sculpted.  I am not the greatest painter, so any drybrushing would have been hard without sculpted fur.

MCP: Red Guardian (Nikolai Krylenko)

I received an email early on Friday that my Winter Guard pre-order was delayed and was not going to ship out till Tuesday, then later in the afternoon, another email arrived with a tracking number (I thought that they were just getting the shipping labels ready). On Saturday morning I actually saw the package moving through the system and and low and behold my package arrive on Monday.

I have been waiting for the Winter Guard (especially 'Ursa Major') so when I opened the package, I had to assemble 'Red Guardian' and 'Ursa Major' right away and get them prepped for their undercoats.

SWL: Imperial Stormtroopers RT-97C x2

I decided to get some more of my Heavy Weapons completed for my Galactic Empire army for Star Wars Legion. These two models were needed in my original LVO 2023 Narrative List, but now that I added a second Unit of 'Death Troopers' these guys will be on the bench for now.

By completing them though, it does give me more options in the future.

MCP: Hulk (Bruce Banner)

Well, I usually do not like to have duplicate models, but since I did not technically purchase our first 'Hulk' (my son did) then I guess it is alright.

My son does not want to let go of his 'Hulk' and it was almost like pulling teeth in order for him to let me use the model in my list for Second Wind 4.  After playing with 'Hulk' in a few test games, I really do like the character and decided to purchase another one so that way my son can have his back (and I am sure he is re-working his Second Wind roster now to include him).

So now I have my own big guy, and I really like how he came out.

MCP: Doctor Voodoo (Jericho Drumm)

Just like with 'Ghost Rider' yesterday, I decided to bite the bullet and tackle this next model 'Doctor Voodoo' and I am quite happy with his outcome.

'Doctor Voodoo' is a pretty strong character in Marvel Crisis Protocol (honestly I have yet to try him), but he seems to be in all of the competitive MCP lists.  Since I am going with a themed list for our next event Second Wind 4, he will not be making the my roster, but he may for Las Vegas Open 2023.
