Weekly Chronicle 2022 #9

Marvel Crisis Protocol is in full swing and it was a good week painting for the game.  I'll be continuing with MCP painting for quite awhile, we still have a lot of model in the backlog.

We also managed our third game this past Saturday, 17 Threat Value and I went with a movie Civil War themed list, and it did not pay out so well for me.

My squad got off to good start scoring 8 Victory Points in Round 1, but then only managed 4 in Round 2 and I was now trailing 15 to 12.  Round 3 was going to be the deciding factory and I did the score the 4 I needed for 16, but also gave up 10 points for a 25-16 loss.

I also then managed on Sunday to build the 'Sanctum Sanctorum'  terrain piece, not sure when it will actually get painted though, wish I was good with an airbrush.

This week I will be posting more MCP models as we start the month of March.

MCP: Black Widow (Natasha Romanoff)

February is looking out to be really good for Marvel Crisis Protocol, I am just rolling along the backlog of unpainted miniatures.

Up next we have 'Black Widow (Natasha Romanoff)', 'Black Widow' does have two model releases, this version and one where she is listed as "S.H.I.E.L.D"

After re-watching the Black Widow movie last night, this suit she is wearing seems to be from the ending of that movie (at least that is what it looked like to me).

MCP: Black Panther (T'Challa)

I am still working along the first ten models I want completed for my Marvel Crisis Protocol roster (mainly models/characters that I like) and today we move onto another Avenger and member also a member of the Wakanda Affiliation, 'Black Panther'.

MCP: Ultron

I just started re-watching this guys movie again last night and what perfect timing that it is his day for a post.

'Ultron' is one of the ten models that came with the Core Set and is a very good model on the tabletop, at least he has been for me when I tried him out.

MCP: Red Skull (Johann Schmidt)

After a short break painting up my 'Chronomancer' for my Necrons, I am back with Marvel Crisis Protocol for awhile.

Right now I am painting models that are a little bit easier and to get myself comfortable painting MCP, and models that I like.

Up next is the Leader of the "Cabal" Affiliation and that is 'Red Skull'.

Weekly Chronicle 2022 #8

It was a pretty decent week for me hobbying.  I was able to finish up my Necron 'Chronomancer' and try him out in a practice game on Saturday (which I realized I really still need to learn the Necrons better, even tough I did get a win).  I really only have one more weekend (this coming weekend) to get another practice game with them, and instead of trying a different list again, I think I need to play the one I played and just stick with that one for AdeptiCon, and hopefully I'll do alright.

We did not get in a game of Marvel Crisis Protocol, but I did start attacking our backlog of unpainted models and made some really good progress, those will be posted in the coming days.

W40K: Necrons 'Chronomancer I'

List submissions are due pretty soon for the 2022 AdeptiCon Warhammer 40,000 Friendly, and I have it narrowed down to a possible three, all are pretty much the same with a slight variant.

Two of my lists have the new 'Chronomancer' model that I picked up at the Las Vegas Open, and seeing how I am limited on the number of days for a practice game, today being one of them, I wanted to get the last model I needed for my lists completed.  Last night I put this guy on the painting table and was able to complete him for today's game.

MCP: Venom (Eddie Brock)

Once I get going on a project, I keep on going, plus I usually like to at least prime two models at a time to save on paint and time.

Since 'Spider-Man' was painted with the Black Suit, it only made sense to work on 'Venom' at the same time.

MCP: Spider-Man (Peter Parker)

This kind of reminds me of when I just started getting into the Batman Miniatures Game and posting every single character that was finished, I kind of like it.

I was going to wait a bit longer into painting any Marvel Crisis Protocol, but since I had my finished my 'Lychguard' for my Necron army earlier than expected, I decided to prime a few models (easier models first).

My son and I own two copies of 'Spider-Man (Peter Parker)' and he wants to paint his the standard red/blue scheme of Spider-Man, so I thought to myself and said "why not", I'll do a black suit Spider-Man.  I painted this 'Spider-Man' based on Spider-Man 3 from Sony Pictures, and I am happy on how the model came out.

W40K: Necrons 'Lychguard I'

I always able to finish up this Unit faster than what I had orginally planned, which is always a good thing.

I received this box as a Christmas present from my son since I did not have a Unit of 'Lychguard' yet, and this Unit provides a nice bodyguard protection when run alongside a Noble Character.  Plus when this Unit is outfitted with a Shield (like I have), they have a 2+ Save and a 4+ Invulnerable Save, they are nice Unit to hold a center Objective (especially when run in a Unit of 10...hmmm)

Weekly Chronicle 2022 #7

I have not really been keeping up with "Weekly" Chronicles, but some are better than none.

Let's see where we are at with projects and gaming since coming home from the Las Vegas Open.

First up, we assembled "most" of the models we had purchased for Marvel Crisis Protocol that we purchased while at LVO, there are still a few models that came in the two packs that we have not completed yet.

Assembled Marvel Crisis Protocol models.

This past Saturday we then also played two more games of MCP (game #'s 2 &3) to still get more familiarized with the rules.  The games took us quite a bit of time to complete and I think soon we will start playing with a chess clock to help speed up the games.

So where I am at with Warhammer 40,000 besides the two games at LVO and one in Arizona, I am only sitting at those three games played for the year, but with AdeptiCon fast approaching, a few more practice games will be played before we head there.

I am currently working on painting up a Unit of 'Lychguard' for my Necrons that should be completed any day now, this Unit is in one of my test lists for the AdeptiCon Friendly event, so if it makes it to the final cut, then the Unit will be completed.
