MCP: Emma Frost (Diamond) (Emma Frost)

It is pretty obvious that the same time I painted 'Emma Frost' (Natural), that I would paint 'Emma Frost' (Diamond) seeing that they are both a base of white, and that is what I did.

Getting the "blue" skin took a little while on 'Diamond', at first it came out a bit too dark (to my sons liking), so I then went back and lightened it up a bit.  I am happy with the results.

MCP: Emma Frost (Normal) (Emma Frost)

With AdeptiCon 2023 this week, I was not sure if I was going to get anymore models painted beforehand, but on Sunday I sat down and started on the other two models from the 'Psylocke/Emma Frost' box, 'Emma Frost'.

I had bad luck with my first spray can of Games Workshop White, but I thought I would give my second a try.  Humidity was ideal and I did some test sprays first and they came out alright, so I then proceeded on the models, and they came alright.  Once they dried, it was time to get painting.

I will not be needing 'Emma Frost' this weekend at AdeptiCon, but it was good to get it completed.

Daily Chronicle: Week of AdeptiCon 2023!

Adepticon 2023 is finally here. I cannot believe how fast the first three months of 2023 has already gone by.  

Last year at AdeptiCon due to scheduling conflicts I was only there for one day, so I did not play in any events.

This year, we are driving in Wednesday night and we have events planned for Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and on Sunday will be our free day to shop the vendor hall (what we cannot get to Saturday after our event).

All events this year will be Marvel Crisis Protocol (MCP) since that is all I have been playing the last year and enjoy it the most.

Thursday will be MCP Affiliations tournament.  Your entire roster needs to be from only one affiliation.

Friday will be the MCP 2v2 tournament where my son and I are teaming up with an “East vs West” themed roster.

Saturday is the main event for MCP, the AdeptiCon Championships with the Top 8 moving on to Sunday (wont be us, hence the Sunday free day).  I’ll be playing my themed “Age of Ultron” list for one final event.

Our goal is to play all games on Thursday/Friday (5 games each day), but we shall see how we do and may elect to bow out earlier.

MCP: Psylocke (Elizabeth Braddock)

I am starting to work on a new list for an event after AdeptiCon that we are going to attend in Canada.  The first addition to that list was completing 'Beta Ray Bill' which I did last weekend.  The second addition that was needed was just released this past Friday, 'Psylocke'.

'Psylocke' did not arrive on Friday, but on Saturday instead so I had a late start getting her assembled and primed.  She was dry and ready to go on the painting table yesterday morning and the work commenced.  By time lunch came around, I had her completed.

MCP: Beta Ray Bill (Bill)

I had a busy weekend with my BASS Fishing Club on Saturday and then attending Hall of Heroes Comic Con on Sunday, but after the Con, I sat down and started work on 'Beta Ray Bill'.

Slowly a few colors here and there, and by the time I was ready to go to bed, 'Beta Ray Bill' was completed.

We are attending an event in Canada in April, and 'Beta Ray Bill' looks to be making my roster for that event.

MCP: Agent Venom (Flash Thompson)

This is the first time that I was able to pre-order a model and actually receive it the day it came out.  Usually when I do a pre-order, it does not ship till that date and I receive it after the weekend.

So seeing how I received 'Agent Venom' on Friday, at night I assembled him and 'Spider-Woman' and he was ready for the painting table on Sunday morning.

I knew he would be a fairly quick paint job (which he was), but I also knew I wanted to do something different with the little armor he is wearing, I decided to try the Army Painter Metallic Black on those parts, and I do like how it came out.

MCP: Skurge, the Executioner (Skurge)

Just a few days late getting this post out, but over last weekend I was able to find some time and sit down and paint 'Skurge'.

This is another model that on Saturday morning I just decided to assemble and get him ready for the painting table.  I had a color scheme pop in my head (because I did not like the studio colors) and I went with it.

I am at that point in our collection of unfinished models, that when I get the feeling to paint one, I will, with no rush of "having" to get any done for a tournament.

MCP: Baron Strucker (Wolfgang von Strucker)

Last weekend was a good weekend for painting, I was able to finish up 'Mysterio' on Sunday, and then I was able to start on 'Baron Strucker'.

When 'Baron Strucker' first was released, I saw an alternate painting done on him and knew this is how I wanted to paint mine.  I was not liking the "green" suit done by the studio team, but wanted a more evil looking color, so obviously I went with black.

'Baron Strucker' is now completed and kicks off the first model for the month of February.

MCP: Mysterio (Quentin Beck)

Once 'Rhino' was completed the weekend before, that meant that I only had one more model to finish in order for all of our "Spider Foes" Affiliation to be completed, and that model was 'Mysterio'

'Mysterio' has always looked a bit intimidating for me to paint, but Saturday night after dinner I sat down at the painting desk and got to work on some of the base colors.  Next thing I know he was getting pretty close to done.  Sunday morning I wrapped up the finishing touches, and completed the base.

I think once AdeptiCon is completed in March, I am going to look into playing Spider Foes more, probably just for fun.

MCP: Rhino (Aleksei Sytsevich)

When this model (Rhino) was first announced by Atomic Mass Games, not so much that I am a big fan of Spider-Foes, but mainly that I am a fan of larger models (Hulk size) and they get me excited to paint.

My 'Rhino' arrived this past Tuesday (due to MLK day here in the US on Monday) and I was able to assemble the model on Wednesday night.  I primed the model on Friday night to prep for weekend painting.  Saturday my son and I had a Bolt Action tournament that we played in, so no painting was done on that day, but come Sunday morning, 'Rhino' hit the painting table.

I have been looking at photo's of other completed models on Facebook, so I had an idea on how I wanted to paint him, and I quite happy on how he turned out.
