BMG: Bouffon [Joker]

As I mentioned earlier when I first started painting the "The Joker: Clowns Party" Bat-Box, I was working on models that I need first to complete my lists for the 250 Rep Friday tournament at Renegade Open in November.  With this model, I swayed from that a bit, I thought 'Bouffon' would be a quick model/easy model to paint and I wanted to get him done just in case "he comes off the bench".

Guild Ball: Fisherman's Guild Reveal 'Knuckles'

It seems like Guild Ball news is too few and far between, but it looks like this week we are getting some updates from Steamforged Games.

The Free Cities Draft Rookies are finally being revealed this week and the first one was today for the Fisherman's Guild with 'Knuckles'.  You can read all about 'Knuckles' on the SFG blog HERE, and his stat card is below.

Weekly Chronicle 2019 #29

At least this past week I did get in a couple of games compared to 0 the week before, it was not a lot, but a game of X-Wing on Saturday night and a game of Batman Miniatures Game yesterday afternoon.  This coming week is not looking to good for gaming with being out of town this coming weekend, and on my free day Sunday, it may be some chores, but we'll see what happens.

Painting last week was great with 9 models posted on this blog and a few more ready to go for this week.

The setup for Sunday's BMG game, Joker came home to the circus.

BMG: Dynamite [Joker]

With yesterday's 'Joker' (Arkham Asylum), that means I have officially begun on my "The Joker: Clowns Party" Bat-Box that I had purchased back in April.  As of now my goal is to complete the models I need first for my 250 Rep, 2 lists for the Renegade Open in November, after that we shall see what happens, but more than likely I will finish the Bat-Box before moving onto another crew/project.

The first Henchmen for my Joker crew is 'Dynamite', I really like this guy because he can go BOOM! and he has Handy/Heavy.

Daily Chronicle: Painting Points, A Personal Milestone

With this mornings post on 'Joker' (Arkham Asylum), I hit a personal milestone with Painting Points.

I started tracking "Painting Points" back in 2010, shortly after I started blogging, as a way to keep me motivated each year to keep on painting my models.  Through the years a lot of fellow bloggers tried to do the same thing, but honestly I think I am one of the few who is still tracking it.

So what is this "milestone" I am referring too? Well it is a "sort of a milestone", back in 2010 I had 819 Painting Points for the year, which is ridiculously high, that is due to the fact I was painting and collecting Warhammer 40K armies with all of their Vehicles (which Vehicles score me 10 points), so unless I start playing/collecting Warhammer 40K again, this amount of points will never happen again.

Then in 2014, I started playing Bolt Action, with a large amount of Infantry men and a few Vehicles, that year I scored 364 Painting Points which was my highest amount till this morning.

This morning with 'Joker' (Arkham Asylum) I hit 365 Painting Points currently for the year with 5 full months left to go in 2019.  Just like in previous years, Terrain does also score me Points, and this past May was a huge month with Terrain for the Batman Miniature Game, but as you can see in my Painting Queue for the year, I do have a lot of models actually painted also.

My backlog is still huge with models and I still have some more terrain I would like to get for BMG, will I hit 819, no way....but 500 Painting Points may be in sight and more doable...just not sure I have that many more BMG models to get me to that milestone, I may have to get to some my back burner models also.

We shall see how the rest of the year goes.....

BMG: Joker (Arkham Asylum) [Joker]

This coming November is the "Renegade Open" up in Minnesota that my son and I will be attending for 2 days of Batman Miniature Game (it s actually 3 days, but Sunday will have to be our travel day back home).

Friday will be a 250 Rep BatMatch tournament, and on Saturday will be the full 350 Rep BatMatch tournament.  I know for Saturday, I will be playing my League of Assassins crew (I just need to decide on 2 lists), but I thought that on Friday, I would play something fun and different.  I told myself that if I can start painting my Joker crew, I would probably play them on Friday.  I have narrowed down my Friday lists to 3 (need to pick 2) and I will start painting those models first.  two lists have 6 models, and one of the lists has 7 models.  Also one of the lists has the new "White/Dark Knight Harvey" model that I am going to try and pick up at GenCon in a few weeks, if I do not find it there, I will have to place an order for him then.

Also between my 3 lists, I have two different leaders, one which is 'Joker' (Dark Knight Rises) and then second leader is this one here, 'Joker' (Arkham Asylum).  Each of them has their own benefits, and I think it will be fun to try/play them both.

Now it looks like I have some clowns to paint.....

Daily Chronicle: "GenCon 2019" 2 Weeks Away

GenCon 2019 is now 2 weeks away from the official start of the convention, just like last year, my plan is too only attend the Sunday event.  The Sunday ticket has a special price of just $15, compared to $110 for all 4 days, or $75 on Saturday.

Seeing how my son and I only want to go to the Vendor Hall, paying anything more to "shop" would be ridiculous.  It will be more for the ambiance of the convention and pickup a few items if I see what I like, plus the last time my son had attended he was like 7-8 years old.

I do have a shopping list (want list) planned out for the event:

Hobby
Washes/Paints (if there is something I see that I really want), maybe some more Army Painter paints.

Terrain
BMG Small obstacles/buildings

Models
BMG Bronze Tiger
BMG Teen Titans?
BMG White/Dark Knight (Harvey)
BMG Ventriloquist Crew?
Arena Rex?
Guild Ball New Rookies (if available)
X-Wing?
Warmachine/Hordes Oblivion?

Some of the items would have to be on a show special price in order for me to purchase (mainly X-Wing) seeing how I get those items from online vendors for a good discount already (and not have to pay the Indiana State Tax that they charge at the convention).

I added the new Warmachine/Hordes Oblivion rules to my list, this should be releasing right about that time, even though I have not played any WM/H this year, it may be nice to stay current on the updated rules/theme lists (we'll see about this one).

Arena Rex is another questionable one, I still have unpainted models from last year, and we have not played much this year also, but at GenCon, they usually have a sale on models.  More than likely I will not pick anything up, but it may entice me to get in a game either before or after the Con.

Aristeia! and Judgment are not on my shopping list.  I have not touched any of my Judgement models I purchased at AdeptiCon, and we only played Aristeia! just a couple of times (and I do have a lot of the Aristeia! models already).

What I am hoping for is that GenCon 2019 may light my fire to get playing some more.

BMG: Black Manta (David) [Unknown]

Today's model is coming from "left field", just out of the blue, I thought I would paint something different like I did with yesterday's 'Scarecrow'.  I knew this model would not take long to complete and we can add it to our completed collection.

We picked up 'Black Manta' (David) from the redemption table this past May while attending MuseOn Con.  Since this model has a re-release from Knight Models with the same sculpt, this model which is metal can still be legal in "Standard" tournaments.
