BMG: Nen [OC]

For the next few days it will be back to some villains for the Batman Miniature Game.  Once I finished up with Team Flash, it was time to move onto some Organized Crime with the "Two-Face's Gang Starter Set".

Up first we have one of his Henchmen 'Nen'

Guild Ball: Unboxing 'The Cook's Guild: Hell's Kitchen'

Well finally while I was out of town this past weekend for "Spring Fling", my Cook's Guild arrived.  I really could have used 'Cinnamon' this past weekend when playing Captain 'Veteran Boar'.

I have another tournament this upcoming Sunday, I may just have to play her unpainted and then hopefully get her completed in time for the following weekend in Chicago or the end of the month for "MuseOn Con".

Along with the box set "Hell's Kitchen", it also included the Limited Edition 'Wellington', and then I also had to purchase the Cook' Guild dice.

Weekly Chronicle 2019 #17 (Spring Fling Recap)

Well this past weekend was "Spring Fling 2019", one of the largest Guild Ball tournaments in the US and it was out in Ashburn, VA and my son and I made the drive out for the weekend.  The event was scheduled for 4 games on Saturday and 2 games on Sunday, unfortunately after Saturday was over my son and I were both 1-3 and he was leaning towards heading home on Sunday morning instead of playing 2 more games.  The drive with stops is about 11 hours, so I also did not mind coming home at a decent hour instead of 3:00 AM Monday morning.

As I said we both finished 1-3 for the event.  I had 3 very fun games (yes only 3 of 4), my first game against Mortician's was like one of my previous games against Alchemists.  The Morticians hid all in a corner all grouped together dropping rough grounds, -4" charge AOE's, -4" MOV plays and it was just no fun standing there not being able to do anything.  I do understand it is a tournament and it is do what you can at all costs to win, so he did.  I lost 4-12.

Once that put me in the loser bracket, the games were fun.  I should have won my second game, I was playing Order and I was winning 10-1 but the I clocked out and in the next 5 minutes I could not get 2 more VP's, so I lost on clock 10-12.

Game 3 was against Farmers, and boy did we have a good Scrum going, I did not realize the Farmer's can do that much damage and take out my Butcher's.... I am really considering making the switch to Farmer's once I get my 30th Butcher's game recorded on Longshanks.  I ended up losing this game 3-12.

Game 4 was against Alchemist's and I was dreading the Smoke Gun Line, boy I was shocked and my opponent was playing 'Midas'.  Very fun game, Alchemist's were able to score 2 Goals and I did 6 Taken Outs, but the game was going back and forth.  Butcher's won this 12-8.

So as stated above, at the end of Saturday I was sitting at 1-3.  Could I have won 1 more game if I played on Sunday....maybe... but I need to be on the wife's good side since I have 2 more tournaments over the next 2 weekends.

Here are just a few pics from the weekend.

BMG: Unboxing 'The Joker: Clowns Party'

I did not have to wait as long as I am for my Cook's Minor Guild for Guild Ball, but I did have to wait over week for shipping of my new 'The Joker: Clowns Party' box for the Batman Miniature Game.  It was suppose to arrive this past Monday, but instead of being sent to my local post office as the next hop, USPS decided to send my package to Pittsburgh, PA and then it had to make it's way back to me.

It looks like I will have more assembling/painting for the month of May.

BMG: Killer Frost (Louise Lincoln) [Unknown]

With heading to "Spring Fling 2019" tomorrow morning for a Guild Ball tournament, this looks like it will be the last model completed for the month of April.

To go along with "Team Arrow", "Team Flash" and basically any Crew (except Batman) is the Free Agent 'Killer Frost' (Louise Lincoln).

BMG: Harry (Harrison Wells) [BatB]

The final model to complete the trio of "Team Flash" is 'Harry' (Harrison Wells).  The picture quality is not the greatest, but I am really happy on how this model came out, he looks great to the naked eye.

Guild Ball: Miner Guild Gets Adjustment

I am a little late to the party with the news, but yesterday Steamforged Games made a minor adjustment to the Miner's Guild for Guild Ball.  They had felt the Miner's were just a little bit too powerful and made a few adjustments.

You can read about all the changes on Steamforged Games Blog.

The Gaming Resources Page here on the blog has been updated with the new Miner's cards for 4x6 photo printing.

BMG: The Flash TV Show (Barry Allen) [BatB]

Now that I have a few villains recently completed for the Batman Miniature Game, it is time to move onto "Team Flash" for the next few days.  I really like using 'Green Arrow' and having the 'Flash' running alongside him seems like it will be fun (just need to also learn the Speed Force rules too).

The "Team Flash" models come with: 'The Flash TV Show' (Barry Allen), 'Vibe' (Cisco Ramon), and 'Harry' (Harrison Wells), so the first of my trio completed is 'The Flash'.

Weekly Chronicle 2019 #16

Week number 16 for 2019 was actually pretty decent in the modeling area of my hobby.  With my son being gone for the week, I did not get a chance to get any games in, but the modeling then picked up.

Recently I have been on a kick to paint Batman Miniature Game (while I still wait for my Cook's Guild) so I was on role this past week for BMG and also able to get some models prepped for the game.  'Deathstroke' and the 'Blackgate Prisoners' were completed, along with a new building for the gaming mat.  I then was able to start some work on 'Team Flash' and 'Killer Frost'.

This coming weekend is "Spring Fling 2019", one of the largest Guild Ball tournaments in the US and my friend and I are off to Virginia this Friday to play in the event.  I am hoping to possibly get in one more game of Guild Ball practice Wednesday night so it stays fresh with me over the weekend.  Besides that, I do not think there will be much time this week for another game.

BMG: 4Ground "North Point Tenement 2" Terrain

With my son being back in Arizona for the week, it has given me more time this weekend to hobby/model instead of playing.  I still had one building sitting on the shelf not built for the Batman Miniature Game, and this weekend was the perfect time to work on it.

The last building I had (all purchased at last years GenCon) was the North Point Tenement 2 from 4Ground which is part of their Gothic City line.

I started on the building last night after dinner and I was just able to finish it now.

The next time I get a chance to play BMG on our home table, I will have to evaluate the gaming mat and see how many more buildings we can fit in.

Daily Chronicle: Announced "Renegade Open 2019" November 22nd-24th

The Renegade Open is another gaming convention that takes place up in Minneapolis Minnesota, and 2019 will be it's 7th year.

I have been contemplating on this event only because Warfaire Weekend (formerly Warmachine Weekend) also takes place in November.  Warfaire Weekend this year is changing formats from strictly Warmachine/Hordes to an overall convention (which is what the Renegade Open also is).

So my funds will not allow me to attend both events in the same month (plus my wife would not be too pleased) so my son and I had to pick one.

Our decision is for the Renegade Open, the main reason is that there will be 3 days of Batman Miniature Gaming,  The following is from the Renegade Open website:

Bat-Fans, let the hype begin! The Renegade Open is November 22-24, and I am running THREE events this year! Friday will be a 250 rep Batmatch, Saturday will be the premier 350 rep, 4-round Batmatch, and Sunday will be a doubles tournament using my Dynamic Duos rules.
Details to come on June 1st when tickets go on sale and the www.renegadeopen.com is updated! Stay tuned!

Since our next convention which is MuseOn Con will be a mix of Guild Ball and BMG, then the NOVA Open which will be X-Wing and Guild Ball, an all weekend of BMG at the Renegade will make for a good time.
