I figure I better get a post in for the month of June since we are now technically half way through the month. I am not on a hiatus this month, just slowed down drastically. At the end of May, I spent a few days to fly back to Arizona and then drive my wife and youngest son back to Michigan, then the following weekend June 3rd, we got a new Husky puppy for my son. So waking up early with the puppy and training/taking care of it has
chewed up a lot of my time.
This past Monday night I was able to head out to Odyssey Games in Kalamazoo and get in a game of Warmachine/Hordes, it has been a couple months since I last played my Minions and I actually won by deathclock. That was a first for me, usually it is me that is timing out when playing with a clock. We decided to playtest a SR2017 scenario and it was a good learning experience. I still am not a good player, but it was a good time. I figure I need to get quite a few more practice games in before the
Michigan GT in October. I originally was planning on playing Bolt Action at the Michigan GT, but when registration went live last week, they did not have any of the rules listed for Bolt Action so I was unsure on all the points allowed. Seeing how my son and I more than likely will not be attending
Warmachine Weekend in November (St. Louis), but instead attending
SteamCon in December (Chicago) I decided to go ahead and sign up for Warmachine/Hordes for the Michigan GT.
In regards to modeling/painting, I was able to get started on 'Veteran Velocity' and 'Mother' (and her 3 nest-markers) for my Guild Ball Engineer's Guild. I am hoping to get those five models wrapped up this weekend. After that, I am not sure what will be next in the pipeline. I will either continue on my Union Guild, or start on one my models for my new Butcher's Guild to see I like the paint scheme.
